I had the pleasure of riding the Disney Skyliner last night. It’s a very enjoyable way to travel between the two parks and four resorts on the line. EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach Resort, Riviera Resort, Art of Animation, and Pop Century. The main hub is at Caribbean Beach. We took this photo there, but it was for Cast Member previews.

The Caribbean Beach hub has a Joffrey’s Coffee just outside. They even have a specialty drink!

The security checks are done before entering the park, not before boarding the Skyliner.
We were able to do all the routes except going from Caribbean Beach back to Hollywood studios. The line went down just as we were to step into the cabin. We walked over to the internal bus stop where they had buses to take us back to the park.

The ride is very smooth. The only time we experienced anything less was when we were coming into or out of a station and when we went around a corner. There was a little bouncing when there were winds, but not bad.
The Skyliner cabins seat up to 10. You can bring strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers into them. They have a little section where they can put extra units on and off to accommodate this without interrupting service.

The travel times between stations is short on most routes. Going from EPCOT to the Riviera to the main Caribbean Beach hub was less than 15 minutes. That was the longest route. We were on one that was only 2 minutes. Honestly, you’re going to want to stay on it longer because the views are amazing!

The EPCOT hub is back by France and the resort entrance to the World Showcase. The best place to enter! This hub is lovely with rich landscaping. You’ll fly over France and see what’s going on with Ratatoullie!

We boarded just before 6:30 PM and got to fly in daylight and sunset. I absolutely recommend you fly at sunset because the views were phenomenal! We got to see the sun setting over the resorts. You can see the resorts with hubs, but also Boardwalk Resort, Dolphin Resort, and Swan Resort! And depending on which route you’re on, you can see all four theme parks!

(Not open yet because resort is under construction.)
If you’re claustrophobic or have a fear of heights, this may not be for you. The cabins are spacious for what they are, but there could be up to 10 people in them, and possibly strollers and the like. You will be high in the air. I’ve posted videos on You Tube going from hub to hub so you can get an idea of what it’s like.
And now for the real need to know information. Temperature in this blazing hot Florida sun. The cabins have air holes and slatted venting. They let the breeze blow through while you’re moving. Personally, I found that it feels stuffy and stale when you aren’t moving. Kind of like riding in a car with the windows up and the AC off. I never got overly hot, just warm. I’m not sure how it would feel if we had been stuck mid-air for any length of time.
They had a couple of displays with Disney Skyliner merchandise that you’ll be able to find at Mickey’s of Hollywood at Hollywood Studios, Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and at Riviera Resort once it opens.

If you stay at one of the resorts on the line, or just have the opportunity, I hope you get a chance to experience the Disney Skyliner! I was most pleased with my first adventure!
