New Year’s Eve is kind of a big deal in Orlando. You have so many options, including the theme parks. Here we’re going to delve a bit into the options at the parks of Walt Disney World Resort.

I’ve spent many New Year’s Eve nights at Epcot and enjoyed every busy minute of it. The World Showcase is like a huge dance party with different DJs in a few of the countries. There’s loud music, lasers, lights, and even fire! This year the “Silent Groove” party will be in Future World. You can also catch the “Epcot Forever” fireworks at 6:30 pm and 11:40 pm. The NYE fireworks are absolutely amazing at Epcot and I highly recommend this celebration, if you can handle shoulder to shoulder crowds. The party is 7 pm until 1 am.
This is the first year Animal Kingdom will be open for New Year’s Eve. DJs will be cranking out dance music starting at 6:15 pm at Discovery Island, Asia, and my favorite Dinoland, U.S.A. Each DJ will countdown to midnight, or you can watch “Tree of Life- Awaken the New Year” on Discovery Island. You can enjoy favorite attractions and holiday entertainment and decor across the park. With the number of people in the parks for New Year’s, having this option should help.
The festivities begin at 7 pm at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There will be a high-energy DJ hosting a dance party at Center Stage that leads up to a countdown and fireworks celebration. “Wonderful World of Animation” is at 6:05 pm, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM” at 6:30 pm, and “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” is just after midnight. There’s no shortage of entertainment in this park!
If you’re brave, you can head over to Magic Kingdom to celebrate. It’s a great place to be, but plan on being there late due to the transportation out of the park. If you’re staying in The Contemporary, you’ve got it made because you can walk back. “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks are at 11:50 pm on December 30 and 31. You can see the same show at 6:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday if you don’t want to be in the park late. DJ parties will be in Frontierland and Tomorrowland on both December 30 and 31. Expect massive crowds in this park.
If you plan on being at a Disney Park for New Year’s Eve, please remember your manners. Treat the Cast Members with kindness, they’re there to make sure you have a safe and fun time. Remember that you are’t the only one in the park, thousand upon thousands of other people are there to celebrate. It’s going to be extremely busy and you probably won’t get to do everything you want. There are going to be very long lines for attractions and the restrooms. Be kind to everyone you come in contact with and enjoy ringing in the new year in Disney style!
