Thanks to a Cast Member friend, I was able to attend a preview last night for the three new films that debuted at Epcot last night. I really enjoyed all three and I think they are nice updates to the attractions.
Awesome Planet – The Land
This new film is where the old Timon and Pumba film used to be shown. The carpet on the walls is still there! The film is narrated as if you were shopping the market for a new home, pointing out the benefits of Earth. There’s some humor thrown in with laugh-out-loud moments. Towards the end, the mood changes and shows you the very real effects that climate change is having. It concludes showing you what people around the globe are doing to make things better and shows you some Disney resources you can look into. There are some effects like lightning in the theater when it’s on screen.

Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 3D – Canada Pavilion
This film is filled with the gorgeous sights of Canada. Really breathtaking. From wilderness to cities, it showcases the best Canada has to offer. Honestly, I’m not Canadian, although I do have some French Canadian blood, but watching this made me feel like a proud Canadian. Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara narrate, and their humor is fantastic! I adore them in Shchitt’s Creek together. This is a standing attraction with circle-vision. My party and I all experienced some dizziness when they started flying over things. I was glad I was leaning on the hand rails!

Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along – France Pavilion
I was more than a little worried when this film started and they announced that they were going to be telling you the untold story of Le Fou’s behind-the-scenes part in Belle and Beast’s love story. I was pleasantly surprised! The twist on the tale had the entire audience laughing. Angela Lansbury, Mrs. Potts, narrates the story and encourages you to sing along. The words are displayed on the screen just in case you don’t regularly watch the movie and know all the words like I do. This was definitely my favorite of the three and I will absolutely be there singing badly every chance I get! This sing-along will run in rotation with “Impressions de France.”

Next time you’re in Epcot, I highly recommend you take the time to experience these new attractions. You won’t be sorry! And let me know if you need someone to come sing with you in France!
