Back to Aquatica!

Today was my first trip to Aquatica since they reopened. It was lovely! We had our temperatures taken before heading to the turnstiles. We needed to have out tickets and reservations scanned. They have plexiglass up at the bag check area, but it kind of seemed pointless because the bag checker turned to the open side to check the bag. There wasn’t a large enough opening on the other side to just slide the bag behind the plexi and out the other side.

They have the same markers on the ground that SeaWorld does. The ones reminding you to keep six feet apart when in the queue. They have signage for the rules on mask requirements, social distancing, and hand washing.

I feel like I saw many more hand sanitizer stations at Aquatica than I did at SeaWorld.

They definitely removed some of the beach chairs. They had them spaced out in little groups. There were signs that you probably wouldn’t notice asking you not to move the chairs. Even though there was plenty of room between the groups, I found that people still felt the need to walk right up next to you while you’re sitting to get where they were going. I also saw that they weren’t really trying to social distance when walking around.

Because of my physical limitations, I didn’t go on any of the slides or the lazy rivers. I did go in the wave pool when there weren’t any waves. For the wave pools and kid areas, they had stantions and entry points. These were so they could keep count of how many people were in the area at one time. The kid area for bigger kids ended up having a line to get in.

The people I was with had a great time. I mostly had a relaxing time. Remember to put your mask on if you need to go into the shops or restaurants!
