Sometimes attractions don’t have a lot of interest for me and I wait to go see them until I finally break down. This past weekend I broke and went to see Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at Hollywood Studios.

The attraction is located far from the rest of the Pixar attractions in the park. It’s tucked into a corner behind Rockin’ Rollercoaster at Sunset Showcase.

I figured it was going to be something along the lines of Turtle Talk with Crush. It kind of is, but without the back and forth with the character and audience. It’s an animatronic Lightning on a small stage with screens around the front of the stage and audience seating. There are appearances by other characters from the movie like Tow Mater and Chick Hicks in the video.

They are basically showing off some training simulators and there is a “race” between Lightning and Chick. There are some funny one-liners and music. Audience verbal participation is encouraged by saying “kachow!”

Overall, it was a cute experience. As an adult, I don’t think I’m going to go back for a while, but I think kids would request it.
