Gingerbread Capital City at Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays

We’ve been deprived of some of our favorite holiday sights and sounds this year. Disney has been doing a pretty good job of bringing us what they can safely. At this year’s Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, you can see a Gingerbread Capital City in the World Showplace Events Pavilion.

This wonderous gingerbread city was created by Disney Chefs. It’s a patriotic homage to some of the United States’ most iconic landmarks including the United States Capital Building, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, and a five-foot tall Washington Monument.

It’s quite a site! There are also hidden, and not hidden, Mickeys, Minnie Mouse, city folk, and even a dog!

It takes a lot of sugary sweetness and pixie dust to make this city!

  • 165 pounds of gingerbread
  • 25 pounds of chocolate rock
  • 1,697 feet of piped icing
  • 75 pounds of modeling chocolate
  • 15 pounds of coconut & 32 ounces of green food coloring

Have you been to the Festival to see this work of gingerbread art?
