Stitch Crashes Disney!

You probably remember when Stitch crashed animated Disney movies in 2002. For 2021, he’s crashing Disney with a new product line. It will change each month and be related to a different movie. Only the first six have “clues” as to what they are, but they are very obvious.

They did the same thing in 2020 with Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction. That line featured Minnie Mouse as different part attractions and was wildly popular once people figured out what was going on.

Having said that, if you even think you want any of this merchandise, you have to be playing for keeps. It’s stressful and will fill you with anxiety trying to get the stuff. That’s no lie. Be prepared.

The first thing you need to know about is MerchPass. You can sign up to get an email to allow you to purchase the items you want. If you are selected, you will get an email letting you know. You’ll be refreshing your inbox like a crazy person. It will allow you one of each item you receive an email for. You may not get an email. In my case, almost always not. But they will let you know you have not been selected. Kind of feels like they’re rubbing it in your face, to be honest. The time you have to make your purchase is limited, so get on there quick. Whatever you’re lucky enough to get an email for may sell out if you don’t act quickly. I would like to add that with Main Attraction, some of the items randomly popped back up after MerchPass email day and you could try to get them. But you had to be watching shopDisney like a hawk.

The first set will be available on shopDisney January 12 at 7 am and in stores on January 16. And you’d better believe the site will be busy and you’ll be in a waiting room. And when you get to the stores, be ready for insanity. I saw it when the Main Attraction stuff would end up in Sir Mickey in Magic Kingdom. The despised resellers will be out in full force grabbing up armloads of merchandise.

Stitch is crashing Beauty and the Beast first in January. There will be a pin, a plush, and a Magic Band. The Band will only be available on shopDisney on a first come, first served basis.

Here you will see what I mean by “hints” that are very obvious. I feel like I may need April and May, but I’ll have to see them when they come out.

I’m really hoping they’ll also have ears because if they don’t they are really missing out. I’m not sure how I feel about the plush Stitch being satin, but I’m also not sure if he will be satin each month. They may switch up textures. I’m not really a pin person, so I’m not too worried about that. And while I love the pictures on some Magic Bands, I haven’t actually worn one since the first year or so that they came out. I tend to bring my card in my tiny wallet or the Mickey Mouse fob that I have the center of a band in.

Just because I’m not thrilled about the merchandise so far, doesn’t mean other people aren’t. I’m not kidding when I say this is going to be a stressful thing for you if you do want it. And if you’re just thinking about it, you may as well. Because like I always told theme park guests, “If you wait to get it, it won’t be here when you come back.” And that was almost always true.

*Updated 06/10/2021*

These are the first six of the year. Most of the merchandise sold out very quickly. You can still find a bit on shopDisney. Mostly mugs and t-shirts. I tried to get The Little Mermaid plush for my daughter and was unsuccessful online and at Disney Springs.

Here are the last six for the year. It’s been a hot mess trying to get them on shopDisney and in the parks. Good luck to you if you want any of them!
