Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Confectionary will be closing for refurbishment to prepare for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary on March 29, 2021. It will be getting an expanded layout with more room to shop. It’s currently quite small for all the foot traffic it receives. It will also be getting new interactive opportunities to customize your confections like never before. I can’t wait to see what they’re going to do!
Some of the merchandise and sweets will be moving to other spots in the park. Many of the treats from the Main Street Confectionary will be at Emporium and Main Street Cinema. Disney hats and ears will be at Box Office Gifts and at the Town Square Theater. Collectibles and artwork will be at Bonjour! Village Gifts.
I’m really excited to hear about the expansion. It’s been a little harder to get in because of the pandemic and social distancing. And before that, the shop was always mad crowded. There hasn’t been a date announced for the completion yet, but hopefully it doesn’t take too long.

I went and had a last look at The Confectionery and The Chapeau on March 28. Now I’ll anxiously await the grand reopening!
