Disney announced today that there will be two new nighttime spectaculars to celebrate the 50th Anniversay of Walt Disney World Resort.
We’ve already known about “Harmonius” at Epcot for a bit now. It “will invite you to travel the globe through new interpretations of classic Disney songs as you’ve never heard them before, reimagined in more than a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world.”

At Magic Kingdom, “Disney Enchantment” will be an “evening extravaganza that will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.” This looks like something you’ll want to experience more than once and from different places in the hub and up and down Main Street.

Also new on October 1, during the day you can experience “Disney Kite Tails” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It will come to life several times daily at the Discovery River Amphitheater. “Performers will fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes, while out on the water elaborate three-dimensional kites – some stretching to 30 feet long – will depict Disney animal friends, including Simba, Zazu, Baloo and King Louie. These colorful creations will dance through the sky to the beat of favorite Disney songs in an uplifting, vibrant experience for the whole family.”

Mickey and his pals will all be wearing new EARidescent fashions come October 1! I love the fancy costumes and can’t wait to see them in person! They’ll be traveling through Magic Kingdom several times daily in the new “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.”

“Disney Fab 50” will have more details revealed at a later date, but Disney has announced that there will be 50 golden character sculptures that will be displayed across all four theme parks. I’m going to have a wonderful time finding and photographing each of them! Disney says we’ll be able to interact with the sculptures in surprising ways. I’m thinking with the My Disney Experience app, or possibly with the purchase of something else that is interactive. Like the wands in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. But I’d bet it’s the app.

I love all the details Disney has been sharing about the World’s Most Magical Celebration for the 50th Anniversary! What are you most excited for so far?
