Epcot’s newest store Creations Shop opened on September 15, 2021 and I was there to check it out. It’s replacing the temporary Mouse Gear store that replaced the original Mouse Gear store. If you can follow that. Creations Shop is rather large and is mostly floor to ceiling windows. It lets in a lot of natural light, and heat. I found it to be a little warm in there. It’s bright and modern with a touch of color.
I noticed right away that the music isn’t anything you’d be able to sing or hum along to. I didn’t recognize it as Disney, but I may just be unfamiliar. It’s not unpleasant, it just wasn’t speaking Disney to me.
Like the new version of the World of Disney store in Disney Springs, Creations Shop is generic with hints of Disney decor. I really miss when Disney shops were full of characters that you could take pictures with and had whimsical carpets. Remember the huge Alice bursting out of the house and the big Tick-Tock? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

The old Mouse Gear was even highly themed and fun. Not as many photo opps as the old World of Disney store, but still very Disney.

In updating to these new warehouse-like shops, I’m sure it’s easier for them to update the sales floors more easily. It just feels like they’re killing the heart and soul of the experience. You’re just there to spend money. Like at a big box retailer. No memories or cool photos to look back on in years to come.
There are two large cash wraps, one on each end of the store. They have queues full of last-minute add-on items. This is also where you’ll see the Mickey statuettes and artwork on the walls.

There are many different sections of the store that house a variety of merchandise. Most of what I saw was items that can be found in the parks already.

This bright new EPCOT merchandise was quite popular, especially the leggings and color block windbreaker.

This mainly white EPCOT collection was flying off the racks. The ears light up. That small black bag attached to them is a charge cable, you won’t need batteries for them.

Creations Shop has a fitting room. It seemed to be open, although I didn’t see anyone making use of it while I was there.

Just outside, there was a team of people cleaning the dark bricks on the ground. I couldn’t tell what had been on them because they didn’t look too bad. They were gone by the time I left the shop.

While it is a lovely store, it just doesn’t have that Disney feel. I hope that someday they return to the business of making memories everywhere you go, rather than just asking us to open our wallets.
