Universal Orlando Resort Finally Updates Appearance Guidelines

It only took forever, but Universal Orlando Resort is finally updating their appearance guidelines to modern expectations. They will go into effect on September 26, 2021.

I personally know people who have been terminated in the past because of tattoos. And I’m not talking about ones that were visible while wearing wardrobe. People who were terminated for non-visible tattoos while working in Diagon Alley. People used to try to cover them with makeup and bandaids, etc. I’ve seen them written up for that.

I’m very glad that that sort of thing won’t be happening any longer. And I’m also pleased that anyone can wear tasteful makeup and nail polish. When I was a captain, I had a male Team Member ask me about wearing foundation to even out his skin. That should never have been an issue, and I didn’t object. But should any member of management have had an issue, he could have been reprimanded.

This has been a long time coming. It’s a little hard to believe that Disney did it before Universal. To all of the current UOTMs, congratulations!
