Disney Princess “Live Your Story” Costume Sets

It’s a dream come true for little princesses. Disney now has princess costume sets called “Live Your Story.” They each come with three dresses and some accessories. Each dress represents the beginning, middle, and end of their stories.

When my daughters were little I worked for a Disney Catalog Outlet. Remember the Disney Catalog? Those were the days. Many princess costumes came through there with deep discounts, and I got my Cast Member discount on top of that. Did my daughters have a lot of costumes to play dress up in? A ridiculous amount. But they loved playing in them.

Shortly after Walt Disney World reopened there was a buy-one-get-one free sale on Disney Princess dresses in Sir Mickey’s at Magic Kingdom. Completely unheard of. Like completely. Disneyland still hadn’t reopened and they were also receiving their costumes to sell. A new style was due to come out and they were moving stock as fast as they could. Discounts applied on top of the sale price. Now I have a rack of costumes for my granddaughter in my garage.

I used to dress up in my grandmother’s, aunt’s, and mother’s old clothes from the 40’s and 50’s when I was a kid. I think buying the kids all the princess dress-up stuff is a way of sharing my childhood with them.

I am waiting for my granddaughter to get a little older before I kidnap her from her parents and bring her to the parks to meet the princesses. She’s definitely going to have some gorgeous dresses to do it in.

Each of the costume sets come beautifully packaged in a sheer organza garment bag with zip closure. You can choose from Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana. Or just get them all if you can afford it. These sets are $149.99 each. That price tag alone really makes me envy people who can sew. But I suppose if you look at it as $50 a dress, with accessories, it’s not too terrible.

Belle’s first dress is the one she visits the village in. The second represents her time in Beast’s castle. The third is her gown from the ball at the end of the story.

Cinderella’s dresses begin with her cleaning dress. Then her dress the animals helped her make for the ball. And finally the gown from her Fairy Godmother.

Tiana’s story begins in her work uniform. She moves on to her party dress. And at the end of her story is her princess dress.

These costume sets are such a great idea. What a great way for kids to become involved in the stories. They can read the books and watch the movies changing dresses as the story progresses. They can live the story with Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana.

You can find these costume sets on shopDisney.
