Mickey Mouse The Main Attraction Coming in 2022

shopDisney has announced a new monthly collection, Mickey Mouse The Main Attraction. This follows 2020’s Minnie Mouse The Main Attraction and 2021’s Stitch Crashes Disney.

Each month through the year, a new collection is released. Items have included plush, Magic Bands, pins, t-shirts, mugs, mini backpacks, etc.

Many of the releases have been shit shows and have disappointed and enraged shoppers. The Minnie collections started releasing in the parks, until COVID hit and shut that right down. At first, people didn’t realize what was going on when the merchandise was in the parks. It was pretty easy to purchase the Space Mountain collection. Once people were in the know, it became a fight to the death. By the time the Pirates of the Caribbean hit park stores, it was nearly impossible to purchase anything if you weren’t there on release day in the morning.

Once the parks were closed the merchandise moved exclusively to shopDisney. That’s where the real nightmare began. Disney had you sign up for access to purchase through their site. Only you weren’t guaranteed access. You either made it in, or were fucked. If you made it in, you were put into a queue to try to make a purchase. It still wasn’t guaranteed. So much rage and anger. SO MUCH. It was a stressful time. My friends and I would all sign up to try to be chosen, only to all receive rejection emails. Want to talk about a bunch of pissed off Disney fans? We’ve got stories. I was able to make only two purchases this way.

After any given collection had hit shopDisney, there would be a release at Magic Kingdom and sometimes at World of Disney in Disney Springs. You literally had to be there release day to get what you wanted. This meant knowing when it would hit and being able to get a Magic Kingdom reservation due to that shit show of a system. Once there, you’d have to queue up to get into the single store they were in, Sir Mickey’s. I’d see so many despicable resellers going in and coming our with bags upon bags of the merchandise. Sometimes what I wanted would be gone by the time I could get into the shop. I literally took days off or long lunches to be able to get in there.

Stitch Crashes Disney was no better. Same shit show, different collections. My friends and I would get onto shopDisney and be put into the queue because so many people were trying to shop the collection on the release days. Once we would finally get in, most of what we were trying to buy was already sold out. These collections also released to the parks. They were found in more locations than the Minnie collections. I’d sometimes be able to find what we were looking for. If you’re looking for them, you can still things at Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom for the most part. Check out Theme Park MoJu on Facebook because I usually post when I find things.

I hope Disney gets their shit together for this new Mickey Mouse collection. The unneeded stress and aggravation of trying to purchase these limited collections is ridiculous. One way I know of that fans let Disney know they were fucking up was that everyone rated the Minnie Main Attraction Peter Pan ears as one star on shopDisney. Then we all wrote scathing reviews about how horrible their system to try to buy them was. They ended up removing the product and all the reviews, then fixed it.

I hope I’m doing my part to help get them to fix it by not sugar coating what I write about it, but giving the honest truth. I also hope everyone who reads my articles appreciates that I don’t. There’s a lot I love about Disney, and the other parks, but I’m going to be honest and call it as I see it.

Having said all of that, I hope this new Mickey Mouse collection is fabulous and that each release is flawless. I also hope that anything I’m in love with is a stress-free purchase.
