Universal Monsters: A Tribute to the Creatures of the Night Store

While The Mummy is closed for an extended refurbishment, it’s dump store Sahara Traders has been turned into a dark, scary, amazing tribute store featuring the Universal Monsters. It’s the store I’ve been wishing Universal would open in an unused spot in the park, but understand it won’t happen until Epic Universe.

Tribute stores have been a super cool draw for day guests and annual passholders alike. They’ve been themed to seasons and events. From Christmas to Halloween and even Jurassic World, the tribute stores are always highly themed and full of amazing props. Not to mention the outstanding merchandise.

Before you even enter the store, you get a terror-ific look at what awaits you inside. Listen to the music once you get inside, it’s all Monster movie!

The entrance area of the shop is still dedicated to The Mummy. You’ll find many artifacts and skeletons of those who dared defy the curse.

Just inside to the left you’ll find The Phantom of the Opera. It’s like a little room, so get in there and check out the details. It’s also a great place for a selfie.

Up top on the right, you’ll find The Creature From the Black Lagoon. He’s my favorite Universal Monster.

Further in on the left, you’ll come upon The Wolfman. Another great spot for photos.

Right next to The Wolfman, you’ll find a fortune telling machine. What does she have to say to you?

Frankenstein’s Monster and The Bride of Frankenstein are found high above with some really cool effects.

The Invisible Man can be found in the back on the right. He’s my second favorite Universal Monster. This is a great photo opp.

Dracula is standing on stairs between The Invisible Man and The Creature From the Black Lagoon. Better watch out for him!

There are some neato coffin shelves with a coffin you can get into. I want to see your photos in that one, of course. Make sure to post them under the Facebook or Twitter post I share with this article!

There’s a lot of cool merchandise in the store, but these skate decks caught my eye. On the bottom they say “The Hundreds” and “Tristan Eaton.” You can find out about Tristan Eaton and his art here.

If the photos just weren’t enough Monster for you, take a five minute walk-through with me!
