Storyliving By Disney – Residential Communities

Disney announced Storyliving By Disney today. These will be planned residential communities across the country. Some of of which will be for residents 55+. Each community will feature distinctively designed spaces, unique amenities, and Disney’s brand of world-renowned service.

The concept is to bring all things Disney to your everyday life, beyond the theme parks.

“Disney cast members trained in the company’s legendary guest service will operate the community association.  Through a club membership, Disney will also provide access to curated experiences, such as wellness programming; entertainment ranging from live performances to cooking classes; philanthropic endeavors; seminars and much more.”

This first community will be called Cotino and it will be located in Rancho Mirage, California. This is near where Walt and Lillian Disney had a home.

In addition to residential homes, Cotino will have a hotel and town center with shops and restaurants.

It will feature a clear water lagoon with a beach. The video below mentions day tickets for access to the lagoon, which sounds like public access. The club membership sounds more like you’ll have access as a resident should you choose to join.

There will be a large lobby overlooking the lagoon.

If you’re like me, the first thought you had was, “This seems really cool!” The second thought was probably, “This seems like big, big, big money.” The homes are probably pretty pricey, and I can only imagine what the club membership will cost in addition.

Further details are going to be shared at a later date. Although I’m anxious to find out, I’m not counting on being able to afford a move.
