Are you ready to be jealous of another amazing theme park that is going to be somewhere other than the United States? China will soon be home to Sanya Hello Kitty Theme Park Resort. Slated to open in 2024, the new resort will be run by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Licensed by Sanrio, Hello Kitty’s parent company, the resort will incorporate the leading international trends in hospitality and local cultural elements of Hainan. It is located in the prime coastal region of Haitang Bay.
The theme park will span over 52 acres. There will also be retail outlets and a hotel. Expect an exciting range of entertainment, performances, cuisine.

Based on the artist renderings of the park, the attractions look like a ton of fun. Roller coasters, water ride, games, and street entertainment are pictured. The theming is outstanding.

I grew up with Hello Kitty and her friends. My Melody was always my favorite! I don’t see the newer Gudetama in these renderings, which is a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully by the time the park opens he’ll be included. And I’ll be able to afford a trip to China!
If you’re thinking about making plans to hit up the China parks, I found out how far apart they are from each other. You’ll see Universal Studios Beijing up north, Shanghai Disneyland to the east, and Hainan in the south where the Hello Kitty Park is being built. There are also many more local amusement and theme parks if you want to add them to your tour. Here are the top 10 according to trip101.com. China Dinosaurs Park would be on the top of my list!
