I’m shocked to find out this morning that the Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe has closed permanently. I tried to find information on their site and app, but it’s completely gone. I confirmed with a member of management that they received a letter this morning stating it is closed permanently and will be replaced. They will be announcing the replacement at a later date.

I heard rumors that it would be going, but I didn’t expect it to close without warning. This quick service restaurant was one of my favorites, for sure.

Now I suppose we can speculate as to what will replace it. I just hope it’s something as fabulous, and not something like the Today Show Cafe. Not that the Today Show Cafe doesn’t have good food, but I would rather have seen something with better theming.

For now, my heart will break a little as I mourn this loss. I will keep strong knowing that there will be an entire land of Universal Monsters in the upcoming Epic Universe theme park.
