shopDisney Japan Has Amazing Lilo & Stitch 20th Anniversary Merchandise!

In yet another chapter of Why Does the US Get Shafted On Cute Theme Park Stuff?, shopDisney Japan has a large collection of Lilo & Stitch merchandise for the 20th Anniversary of the movie. Far more than what the US is getting. And talk about cute? We pale in comparison.

First off, look at all this plush! Not only do they have Lilo and Stitch, but they also have Nani Pelekai, Jumba Jookiba, Pleakley, and Lilo’s doll Scrump. All so adorable. Like, so, so, so adorable.

They also have an aloha shirt and t-shirt. Even though these are sold in Japan, the t-shirt is in English. So why can’t we also have it?

They have some pretty cool stuff for the kitchen as well. Plates, mugs, a water bottle, and even silverware sets. Silverware, people.

The most fantastic thing for the kitchen is definitely the Stitch cookie jar with movable parts that comes with cookies. You can pose his cute little self differently every day and bring all the happiness to your home. WHY can’t we have this?!

They have two plush keychains. One is Lilo and Stitch with Scrump and the other is Elvis Stitch with a ukulele. Tiny things we could have but don’t.

The long towel is marketed as a towel muffler. “The characters hug each other.  The design with heartwarming scenery and pretty plumeria flowers seems to make you feel gentle just by looking at it.  It’s longer than a face towel, so it’s easy to hang it on your neck and shoulders, and it’s an item that will be useful in the outdoor scene.” Can that description get any better? The other is a round towel that would be great if we could get it here.

Not only do they have cute and fun stuff, they also have things you can use every day. A battery charger, wireless speaker, game case (think Nintendo Switch), and a watch. None of which we are getting here.

They also have two awesome figures. The Elvis Stitch even lights up! Pretty sure we could all use one of those, right?

They have two sets of pins. One has five different Elvis Stitch. The other has three pins, including one that says it’s the 20th anniversary. Pretty sure there are plenty of Disney pin collectors who would like to get these.

They also have an eco-bag and a large tote. Both very useful, if only we could get them to use them. Honestly, these are so great.

They also have a very cool throw pillow, a 300 piece puzzle, and a set of five postcards. If you know me, you know I love my puzzles. I’d absolutely be getting it.

So now you’re probably all like, “So what are we getting?” Well, here it is. A Lilo and Stitch plush where they are sharing a coconut drink, a Disney key, a Disney key pin, a 20th anniversary pin, and a 1,000 piece puzzle. Yup. That’s it.

We have other regular Lilo & Stitch merchandise available, but so does Japan. And theirs is way cooler.

I’ve pondered in the past about why American parks don’t get cute food. We don’t get the same cute popcorn buckets, clothing, or souvenirs either. Why is that? Are we unworthy? Are assumptions made about what we like? I think if they’d just give us some of the things, they’d find that we’d go crazy for it. But I guess for now, we’ll just have to sit here all jealous wishing we could have it.
