Duffy’s friend Lina Bell is coming to Tokyo DisneySea September 8, 2022. “Lina Bell loves to solve mysteries. She takes out the magnifying glass like a detective and solves various problems. She also reassures Duffy and her friends.” The story basically goes that one day Duffy was out with Mickey Mouse and became separated while he chased a butterfly. A fox cub named Lina Bell came upon him and helped him back to Mickey. Duffy gave Lina Bell an orchid in return.
Because this is Japan, they are getting all kinds of really cute merchandise and food, as well as a monorail layover, to go along with Lina Bell’s debut. Let’s see what’s coming!
While there aren’t any photos yet because this will be in-park, The Mediterranean Harbor, American Waterfront, and Lost River Delta theme ports will be decorated to welcome Lina Bell. I’ll bet it’s going to be fantastic!
These are just some of the merchandise items that will be available. Of course there is a plush and Lina Bell ears. You’ll also find a plush bag, Lina Bell and Duffy cookies in a tin, a tote bag, and hand cream.

You’ll be able to purchase Lina Bell inspired food in the park like the cream cheese sandwich cookies and deli plate.

They’ll have several collectibles that can be ordered with food or drink purchases. There is a Lina Bell popcorn bucket that her magnifying glass arm moves. The small container of chocolates hides a dispenser hole under her tail. The cream cheese sandwich cookie has a basket container. There is a mug you can order with a lychee mousse with raspberry jelly. The cup and straw may be ordered with a drink. The plate can be ordered with strawberry mont blanc. There’s even a lunch tote you can order with food!

At Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta’s Bella Vista Lounge, you will find Lina Bell inspired food and drink. “In the course menu, you can fully enjoy the autumn ingredients, and the appetizers and desserts are decorated with motifs inspired by Lina Bell, so you can enjoy dishes that are pleasing to the eye.”

One monorail will be decorated, Resort Liner (Type X) Purple. “A special monorail with an interior designed by Lina Bell, a new friend of Tokyo DisneySea, will operate. Inside the car, there is a forest where Duffy and Lina Bell, who have been separated from Mickey after chasing butterflies, meet for the first time, and you can enjoy the world view as if you were lost with Duffy! Please look for the curious Lina Bell ♪” The Lina Bell layover will be from September 8 through late March 2023. It’s noted that there are days that the service period change or it won’t operate due to normal inspections.

Now that you’ve seen a glimpse of Tokyo Disney Resort’s monorail, I can’t just leave it at that. It puts our Walt Disney World Resort monorail to shame. If you’ve ever been on ours, you know it can be standing room only, hot, and sometimes littered with guest trash. Ours aren’t really themed other than color and an occasional wrap. I haven’t been on the one in Japan, but it’s a life goal.
Theirs have Mickey shaped windows. Already a win.

Check out these classy cast member costumes. The monorail printed vest even has Mickey buttons. I’d totally wear it.

Just look at this interior! Not only does it have amazing theming, but it looks incredibly comfortable. You’ll notice that it’s completely different that the one that will have the Lina Bell layover except for the hanging handles.

The Tokyo Disney Resort monorail line has four stations and takes approximately 13 minutes to go all the way around.

The four stations are Bayside Station, Resort Gateway Station, Tokyo Disneyland Station, and Tokyo DisneySea Station.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our little adventure into “cool things we will never have in the US” with me. If you’d like to check out a previous issue, check out some of the food we’ll probably never see.
