You may have noticed that The Brown Derby has had a wall around it. Back in June I let you know that something was going to happen with the store. As I’ve been told, it’s becoming a Uni Vrs shop. Out in Hollywood, they have a section of a store by the same name in City Walk. Ours will be a full store inside Universal Studios. To me it seems like they are going for a Hot Topic/Spencers type of vibe. It’s the movies and characters we know and love on trendier merchandise.

Here’s some of the merchandise they have out in Hollywood. You’ll see some characters you don’t normally see in the parks. Knight Rider, Hot Stuff, Felix the Cat, and original Trolls. That’s something I’m looking forward to.

Hello Kitty is currently closed, but fear not. It’s not going away. They are currently redoing the floor. They will be going section by section. Expect another section to close when they finish Kitty.

I also hear that the Hollywood area Dark Room and UOAP Lounge will be closing soon. They adjoin the old Prop Shop that closed this past summer. Back in September I showed you some photos of the inside of the store as it’s being remodeled. There was cutout where the Prop Shop and Dark Room will eventually be joined. Then the Dark Room and the UOAP Lounge will be joined. Combined, they will become the new Tribute Store location. I hear that the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store will still be in the current Tribute Store location in New York.
