Christmas at Disney’s Beach Club & Yacht Club Resorts – Character Dining & Decor

We went to Christmas breakfast at Cape May Cafe in Disney’s Beach Club Resort. It’s a buffet breakfast with an omelette station. The most fun part is the characters! The resort is very festive with beautiful decorations. We also walked over to the Yacht Club to peruse the shop and see their decorations.

There were so many guests at breakfast and walking around the resorts in their holiday pajamas! I felt a little out of place in my regular ol’ clothes.

The Cape May Cafe buffet had Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse waffles, french toast, scrambled eggs, Ambrosia salad, fruit, french toast, asparagus, breakfast potatoes, crepes, oatmeal, grits, ham, and more. Pictured next to the ham is a cranberry mayonnaise that was delightful. Salted Caramel Beach Buns were brought to our table.

They offered a selection of holiday drinks. The Gingerbread Martini is usually served at dinner, but we were able to order it at breakfast. It’s Absolut Elyx Vodka, RumChata Liqueur, and gingerbread spice featuring a rim of gingerbread from Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort Bakery. They let us know it would be served without the gingerbread on the rim during breakfast. I had a sip of it and it was delicious. I ordered a Toasted Marshmallow Cold Brew with Mozart Chocolate Liqueur, heavy cream, Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew, and toasted marshmallow topped with whipped cream. It was amazing!

Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck were there to spread holiday cheer. I was kind of hoping they’d at least have some little accessory for the holidays, but they were all adorable in their beach attire. I had to tell Goofy how much I loved his shoes!

After breakfast I went through the lobby to take photos of the decor and gingerbread carousel. If you’ve never seen this spinning carousel in real life, you’re missing out. It’s just wonderful and is made by the Yacht and Beach Bakery. This is it’s 22nd year! The carousel horses are princesses Snow White, Belle, Tiana, and Jasmine, along with Queen Elsa. There’s a list of ingredients that shows just how much goes into it. There are 432 pounds of honey, 1,200 pounds of rye flower, 100 pounds of eggs, 25 pounds of spices, 10 pounds of simple syrup, 200 pounds of icing, 10 quarts of egg whites, 100 pounds of confectioner’s sugar, 50 pounds of dark chocolate, 200 gumpaste flowers, and 20 pounds of Grand Marnier. It’s 2,021 pieces of gingerbread and has 22 hidden gold Mickeys. The pastry cooks and bakers worked over 600 hours since July to make the carousel. WOW!

The Beach Club had several lovely trees and wreaths. They also had a little holiday shop counter in the lobby where they had some treats and a few Christmas items. They had a list of holiday activities available to guests of both the Yacht and Beach Clubs for the day including a movie under the stars. I hope whoever went really bundled up because we had the coldest Christmas we’ve had in 33 years.

Over at the Yacht Club, they have a miniature Christmas village. Some of the parts were moving. There’s so much detail and you could spend hours looking at it.

The Yacht Club had some very nice trees and wreaths. Stitch was a special visitor at the desk!

Like I said, it was our coldest Christmas in a while. I saw that some of the plants were covered, but these flowers were frozen.

At both resorts, there were Cast Members with baskets of cookies they were handing out in the lobbies. Snickerdoodles, which are one of my favorites, and chocolate chip. It was a very nice touch.

On my way to check out the shop at the Yacht Club, I looked over by a window and found some Pixie Dust from a guest! I was very surprised and delighted. The card attached said they were from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. There were some tiny Disney gifts inside.

After breakfast and a walk around the resorts we headed over to my son’s house to spend the rest of Christmas with family. I hope all of you had a peaceful and joyous Christmas. Many thanks to each of you who have supported Theme Park MoJu over the years. May you all have a prosperous and healthy new year!
