Back in December of 2022 I told you that the Universal Orlando Annual Passholder Lounge, the UOAP Lounge, in Universal Studios was going to be closing and moving to Islands of Adventure’s Betty Boop store. It looks like the time has finally come. Betty Boop will be closing on March 20, 2023 to make way for the new lounge. The majority of the merchandise currently in the store will be moving across the street to Toon Extra. I’ve been told the planned opening date for the lounge is April 26.

I’ve been told that at some point this year, character photos will be added to Toon Extra. Betty Boop, Popeye, and Olive Oyl will meet guests in the store. Wall bays will be added to either end of the store to accommodate them. I’m sure these will have some theming to make for more appealing photos.

Toon Lagoon was my first home when I worked for Universal. I loved working in the area and am happy to see it get some much needed update love, however small it may be at this time.
