In today’s edition of super amazing things the foreign parks have that the US parks don’t, Universal Studios Japan’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter has new Magical Creatures Encounters. They are beginning today and happen until December 31, 2023. Those dates are subject to change, but at least they’re getting them.
Guests are instructed not to touch the magical creatures unless they are told they can.
Hippogriff Magical Lesson
“With a head like an eagle, a body like a horse, sharp claws, and wings covered in scales…Hippogriff, who surprised Hogwarts students as a “strange creature”, is finally here! I will spread my wings in front of you! How to get close to this proud giant creature without offending it? Yes, bow politely! Learn how to interact with the students in the 4th dormitory.”
There are three meet and greets bundled into the Hogsmeade Magical Creatures Meet.
Hogsmeade Magical Creatures Meet
- Niffler – In front of the Owl Mail™, the one who is searching the mail in the cart is “Nifler”, who loves glittering treasures. A mischievous magical creature who collects her favorite glitters in her pouch.
- Baby Dragon – In the plaza next to Hogsmeade™ Station, a creature merchant secretly brings along a “baby dragon” that has just hatched from an egg. You wouldn’t know that this tiny Ukrainian Ironbelly breed is the largest dragon weighing 6 tons.
- Pygmy Puff – In front of Zonko™’s “Mischief Specialty Store,” the fluffy pink “Pygmy Puff” is crying! Adorable miniature “puffskeins”, purple and pink pygmy puffs, are considered pets.
“They’re all smart and cute, but be careful because unpredictable things can happen. Listen to the stories of the wizards and take pictures with them.”
This is the promotional video for the encounters. To say I’m extremely jealous is an understatement.
