Okay, so there have been a few things that the Brown Derby in Universal Studios Florida has been rumored to be turning into. The big one was a UVerse store like the one in Hollywood. But apparently that one didn’t do too well, so it was scrapped here. Then for a brief moment it had a version of the Prop Shop in it.

Now I hear that it will reopen on April 1, 2023 as a youth store. Similar to what Wossamotta-U in Islands of Adventure, it’s supposed to have IP youth apparel, toys, and plush. Perhaps it will be good for the location. I just hate to see anything closed for long periods of time when it could be used.

The Betty Boop store has been closed for a bit to transform into the new UOAP Lounge. Now I hear that it’s opening has been pushed to the end of April. I also hear that they most likely will not have new UOAP merchandise, but will be moving the same merchandise into its new location from across the street at Toon Extra. The good news is that there will supposedly be more seating available, and less merchandise. It’s hard to call it a lounge when it’s really a store with a couple of chairs in it.
