
The Walt Disney Company and Miral announced an agreement today to create a new Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The seventh Disney resort will be on Yas Island. The area is already home to world-class entertainment venues that connects travelers from the Middle East and Africa, India, Asia, Europe, and beyond.

The new resort will be fully developed and built by Miral. Disney and its Imagineers will lead creative design and operational oversight to provide a world-class experience. Miral, which has developed a number of family entertainment destinations on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi in collaboration with American and European brands, will operate the resort.
Miral’s contributions to the area include Sea World Yas Island, Ferrari World Yas Island, Warner Brothers World Abu Dhabi, other attractions, and several resorts.

The UAE is home to the largest global airline hub in the world, Dubai International Airport (DXB), with 120 million passengers traveling through Abu Dhabi and Dubai each year.

Abu Dhabi held quite a celebration for this announcement. A stunning drone show and fireworks spectacle lit up the night sky at Yas Island. It included global celebrities Tyrese Gibson, Naomi Campbell, Ed Westwick, and more. Guests were also treated to a live performance featuring world-renowned pianist Lang Lang alongside acclaimed Emirati singer, Rashed Alnuaimi, Kerry Ellis, and Sonya Balsara.
