Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Millennium Falcon

I attended the Annual Passholder preview of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on August 18. I had the late time slot, so I was able to see it in full daylight, and after dark! It’s neat during the day, but it’s amazing after dark.

The highlight for me was Oga’s Cantina. The atmosphere and interaction can’t be beat. You’ll be singing along with everyone in the place, and helping to get the DJ powered back up! There are alcoholic and non-alcohol drinks and a few bar snacks. Look out for the $35 and $45 drinks in souvenir cups.

I forgot to take a picture of the bar menu, but this was our first round.

Obviously we had to try the milk. There’s a milk stand serving green and blue. You can also get a souvenir jug. I loved the green!

Enjoying refreshing green milk.

I had a bite to eat at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. They have water set out in the dining room, which is excellent.

Believe it or not, this is chicken.

Currently only one attraction is open, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. While the queue is amazing, I think the ride is lacking. The first time we rode, we weren’t provided instruction, so we weren’t really sure what we were doing. It was easier the second time. You’re going to want to go more than once, because there are three positions. Pilot, gunner, and engineer. It’s awesome to be IN the Falcon, but it seems like they could have done better.

Just so you know, I lived in Diagon Alley for three years. I know it like the back of my hand. I couldn’t help but notice that there are a lot of similarities in The Market. It’s fairly small with even smaller shops. There’s a pet store and a clothing/robe store. The number of people trying to fit in them, the tiny space for the shop keepers, and the heat brought me back to my Potter life. It’s lovely, but I truly feel for those Cast Members.

See what happens when you fill your water at the edge of The Market.

In the Black Spire Outpost, you have more shopping. Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities is very similar to Borgin in Knockturn Alley. High ceilings and heads mounted on the wall. It’s a small shop that I’m positive people will be cramming into. There are some sights in there!

I didn’t have a reservation for Droid Depot, but I was able to get in there at the end of the night for pictures.

Droid Depot
R2, you’re my only hope.

PhotoPass has some great shots and Magic Shots! I didn’t get to them all, but I plan to! If you don’t have PhotoPass before you go, definitely get it because you won’t want to miss out!

Hello little porg!

And now for the night photos!

Overall, I enjoyed the land. I really can’t wait to experience the new attraction later this year. It also looks like they have more to open. I hope Disney will expand Star Wars because there’s a whole lot out there!
