I attended my first D23 event today! We celebrated the 75th anniversary of The Three Caballeros at the AMC theater in Disney Springs.

When I arrived the check in was quick. A simple scan of the QR code on my phone. I was given coupons for a free drink and popcorn. I was also given a set of D23 Three Caballeros buttons! They had a display of the D23 membership gifts for this year on a table.

Before the movie we heard from a D23 representative from California. He gave us information on upcoming D23 events and more movies that will have anniversary screenings. I’m most excited about The Emperor’s New Groove!

Before the movie, we watched the creators of the Disney+ show Legend of the Three Caballeros. One of them was Tony Anselmo, the official voice of Donal Duck! They talked about the show and how it is like the movie and draws from past Disney shows and movies. I wasn’t allowed to film that part. I also had no idea that the show existed until today. It’s one I’m going to look into!

It was pretty neat to see a movie on the big screen that I’ve only ever seen on TV. I’d absolutely go to another screening event! They thanked us for coming as we left the theater and everyone was very nice.
