Walt Disney World Increasing Ticket and Pass Costs In December

We all know that Disney, and other parks, increase the costs of their tickets and passes. The shitty thing about these increases are that Disney parks are still offering less for more. They keep taking away benefits of passes, the parks have fewer character interactions, several stores still haven’t reopened, food portions are smaller, food costs are up, and the list goes on and on.

So now they are raising prices on annual passes that you can’t even purchase. The only pass that has been available for a new purchase is the Pixie Pass. Even though they’ll deny it until the cows come home, they have been pushing annual passholders out of the parks. They are hoping to get the guests who are willing to spend big on tickets, food, and souvenirs into the parks. They fail to acknowledge that many passholders spend money in smaller amounts, but more consistently, year-round.

I hope that this increase will decrease visitors heading to Walt Disney World. I hope that people finally see that the ridiculous amount of money spent at parks where you are not getting what you used to can be spent in other parks where you will get your money’s worth.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Disney. But I, and many others, think they are making poor decisions and closing out their most loyal guests. I know tons of people who have chosen not to renew their annual passes because the cost is becoming too great. Just like Disney wants.

I had to downgrade my pass for the first time ever on my most recent renewal. Unless I fall into some money, it probably won’t be long before I can’t afford it anymore at all. Believe me, if that day comes, I will be truly heartbroken.

The prices will go up on December 8, 2022. I’d say get a pass before then, but you can’t.

The 1 day park specific for a specific date is going to jump for all parks except Animal Kingdom. The system will automatically book you a park reservation when you book a 1 day 1 park ticket.

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom : $109-$159
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $124-$179
  • EPCOT: $114-$179
  • Magic Kingdom: $124-$189

Again, most annual passes will remain paused. Only the Pixie Pass is currently available.

  • Incredi-Pass: $1399 (Was $1299, an increase of $100.)
  • Sorcerer Pass: $969 (Was $899, an increase of $70.)
  • Pirate Pass: $749 (Was $699, an increase of $50.)
  • Pixie Pass: $399 (No Change)

While Disney is increasing prices for guests on pretty much everything, the Universal and SeaWorld parks are looking better and better. Both have holiday celebrations in the parks that you will not have to pay extra for, they are included with your admission.

Universal Orlando is sprucing up the parks to get everything in tip-top shape for when they open their new park, Epic Universe. With tons of fun rides, shows, and experiences, you get quite a bang for your buck. Their newest attraction is the VelociCoaster. You can browse tickets and passes for Florida residents and non-residents to find the best fit for you at more affordable prices. Universal currently consists of three parks, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay. They have several on-site hotels in varying price ranges.

SeaWorld has always been the best value. They’ve got Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and friends for the holidays! They recently added a new coaster, Ice Breaker, and are building another, Pipeline. Sesame Street Land is fun for all ages. They put on some pretty amazing festivals where you will get more for your money, and some delicious food and drinks. Check out their very affordable tickets and passes below. The parks also offer all day dining, which is a great value. SeaWorld has a family of parks, SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, and Adventure Island.
