Universal Orlando Resort opened a Universal Orlando Annual Passholder Lounge a few years ago in Universal Studios. It has been in the Studio Styles store, but isn’t much of a lounge. There are a few chairs and tables in there, but it mostly has UOAP merchandise, some candy, and Coca Cola products.

The Hollywood location is going to be closing and the UOAP Lounge will switch parks, moving over to Islands of Adventure. The new location hasn’t been officially announced yet, but it’s headed for the current Betty Boop store. It’s also not a very large location, so I expect it to be about the same as the current lounge.

The Betty Boop merchandise from her current store will migrate across the street into Toon Extra where she’s already had a presence for many years. Don’t forget she also has a store in Universal Studios.

I have many fond memories of working in the Betty Boop Store. If you’ve been in there, but haven’t stopped to listen to the music and conversations piped in, I suggest you do. I doubt they’ll continue playing once it’s become a lounge. Toon Lagoon actually plays really cool stuff in each of the shops, so take a listen next time you’re in the land.

In case you’re wondering which park has the best passholder lounge, it’s SeaWorld Orlando. There are lots of tables and chairs, and they also have complimentary Coca Cola fountain drinks.
