“Didgeridoo” Dominic Gaudious Passes Away

Entertainer and all-around good guy, “Didgeridoo” Dominic Gaudious passed away yesterday, April 2, 2024. Dominic played quite often at Disney Springs and Epcot, among many, many other venues in Florida. You’ve probably heard or seen him if you’ve been around long enough. And this is only recent, he has a long and diverse history.

His family shared the very sad news on his Facebook page this afternoon.

Goodbye our beloved Dominic. Our hearts are heavy as we bid farewell to Dominic, a remarkable soul whose life was tragically cut short following a motorcycle accident on March 11, 2024. Despite a valiant fight to come back, surrounded by love and hope, Dominic took his final breath on April 2, 2024.

Dominic was a beacon of love, a beloved father, a loving brother, a faithful friend, a cherished musician, and a treasured soul embraced by a family and community that adored him beyond measure. His guitar conveyed deep emotions, his music a beautiful reflection of his passion and talent. Through joy, sorrow, and love, Dominic’s melodies forged unbreakable bonds and left indelible marks on our hearts.

His son, Dominic III, bravely facing a future without his father’s physical presence, carries forward Dominic’s legacy of courage, love, and musical brilliance. In these moments of profound loss, the outpouring of support and shared memories provide a measure of comfort, reminding us of the powerful connection we all shared with Dominic.

A service announcement will be upcoming. And when the time comes, we invite you to join us in celebrating Dominic’s extraordinary life, to honor a man whose music and friendship and brotherly love touched so many and whose spirit remains with us.

With love and deepest gratitude,

Dominic’s Family

I can tell you this hit me quite hard and I’m still in total disbelief. He had shared photos from his accident and they were pretty awful. But he was still out living his life and I never would have expected this.

I first met Dominic back in 2012 when I moved to Orlando. He was playing at Downtown Disney, now Disney Springs. He came over with a smile to chat with my daughters and me. He eventually asked me if I’d like to help him sell his CDs while he played. I ended up doing that for him on many occasions.

From there we developed a lovely friendship. I even took him with me to Halloween Horror Nights, his first time ever at a haunted house, or so he told me. He was pretty nervous, but we ended up having a great time.

We stayed in touch all these years. It was always wonderful to run into him. He always had a big smile on his face and a big ol’ hug to share.

I’m so heartbroken, but so very happy to have known him. He was funny and immensely talented. The world has lost quite a bright star.

You can find Dominic’s music on YouTube and Spotify.

Rest in peace, my dear friend. You will forever be missed.

  1. When we first moved here in 2008 was when we met Domonic. Every Friday night my husband and teenage son would watch him. My son loves music and the drums and he and would talk about it. He was so nice to my son and husband. We are so grateful to have known him. I hope his son finds some comfort knowing how much everyone loved him and thought of him.

  3. Such sad and heart breaking news. Dominic was my go to when I left work nearby. I would just go sit and listen to him play for hours. Over the years we became very good friends and shared many of the family and faith experiences. As my son is twice his age, he would as me advice on how to handle the pain of being away from his son. “Lots of prayer and phone calls” The last conversation I had with Dominic in June of 2023 was about me leaving for California for Ministry School. He was adamant about sharing with me his faith in Jesus and assured me he was walking with Him again. It put me a such peace. Not seeing him this summer will be difficult, but I do know I’ll see him again. Love you DG. You brightened so many lives.
